In early 2025, I was approached by Pittsburgh-based musical startup Conduction to create a flier for their Jukebox Live! event series — on a quick turnaround of one week.
Geared toward children and parents, the events would allow kids to compose their own music using Conduction’s proprietary tech, then hear those compositions played live. Thus, the client was looking for a playful, musical vibe that caught the eye on digital platforms.
With inspiration from gaming and cyberpunk posters, I began with bright, cyberpunk color palette and aesthetic. Over the course of the week, we settled on a more muted, organic color palette while retaining that playful, active feeling. Ultimately, the poster featured 7 hand-drawn figures jamming out, in a fuzzy, groovy room. Using whimsical features like slanted letters and wacky people, I aimed to convey a fun, welcoming and musical vibe that prioritizes kids and their artistry over all else.
