#PANeedsTeachers is a campaign aimed at repairing Pennsylvania’s teacher pipeline through policy, advocacy, and action. Led by TeachPlus PA and the National Center for Education and the Economy, the campaign kicked off in 2022, when I began creating branding, designing print media, and running #PNT’s social media platforms.

Some of my highlights included developing the campaign’s branding; designing hand-held signs and folders for two different rallies/Lobby Days; and leading the design process of the 2023 Solutions Playbook.

#PANeedsTeachers Solutions Summit Report 2023

Following a second annual summit held in spring 2023, I was tasked with taking lead on graphically designing a report on the gathering, which convened educators, administrators, students, and advocates from across Pennsylvania to discuss solutions to the teacher crisis. With the help of fellow graphic designer Rachel Azzinaro, and colleagues Anna Havrilla & Eunice Agaba, the report was quickly designed in a blistering week and a half. I designed the covers and p. 2-3, 6-11, 18-25, 38-43.

#PANeedsTeachers Post-Summit Report 2022

Following a summit held in fall 2022 that covened some 150+ educators, advocates, students, and policymakers, I was tasked with graphically designing a report that resulted from the summit — highlighting problems and proposing solutions to Pennsylvania’s teacher crisis. This report was my first foray into longer form print design, so I was grateful for the opportunity to learn by doing. The publication was highly publicized in Pennsylvania, with mentions in the Philadelphia Inquirer and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette among other newsrooms, and was directly cited by legislators in introducing legislation to raise teacher pay.

As part of the roll-out of the report, I was also tasked with creating a digital toolkit for #PANeedsTeachers coalition members to use in promotions. The toolkit language is linked here, while graphics are displayed below. Some graphics were also repurposed for a brief Meta advertising campaign.
